"September Skies"

from $55.00

One lens. One barn. Five days. I have admired this Ahnapee barn for years and knew it would be too weak to stand and dominate the landscape for much longer. I set out to document it before it collapsed under the weight of neglect, visiting it when the mid-September’s evening sun lit up the surrounding golden rod and maples. Four consecutive days the clouds suddenly dissipated as they marched eastward approaching the warmer air over the waters of Lake Michigan, a couple hundred yards behind me. But when I retuned on the fifth day, my perseverance was rewarded. The following summer this tired old barn finally succumbed to a lake-driven storm.
