"Braunsdorf's '36 Chevy"

from $40.00

[An excerpt from my book Behind The Door: Portraits of a Peninsula]

83-year old Darrell Braunsdorf parked his father’s 1936 Standard Chevy Sedan in a field behind his house 65-years ago. It has not moved from that spot since. The last plates he purchased are still attached—1959. Over the decades it has been settling into the soft clay soil, ravaged by the elements, homed by various wildlife, disfigured by vandals. It also makes for a magnificent foreground subject complementing a late spring appearance of the Milky Way .
