"Bright Star"

from $55.00

Comet Neowise was discovered by astronomers in March, 2020. By July it was visible to the naked eye for several weeks, coming within 150-million miles of Earth. It was the brightest comet visible in the northern hemisphere in over 20-years. This photo, taken July 16, 2020, shows the comet with its twin sodium tails streaking toward the northwest above a Hatteras yacht in the foreground—ironically named Bright Star—moored at Alibi dock. Neowise will not circle back and be viewable from Earth for another 6,700 years.
